Tumuhaise Esther Michelle who professionally goes by the name Mitchy Dalen has today shared her latest single “Experience You”. This comes exactly two months and three days since she dropped her first track of the year 2024 “Take Me Back”.
With a penchant for Afro soul/pop, Mitchy Dalen’s musical journey began in her formative years, performing in school and church. Her passion led her to participate in Coca Cola Rated Next, a talent search show aimed at nurturing talents for the Ugandan music industry. She advanced from the Kampala auditions to the national stage, where she was discovered and joined the Milege Afro Jazz Band in 2015. Since then, she has collaborated with various bands, including Davis Ntare & his Band, Code 9 Band, Jemimah Sanyu and Unit 446, and Band Cindy. Her enchanting vocals have graced stages at esteemed events such as Shorts na Lesu (2017), SoFar Sounds Kampala (2018), and the Jazz Safari (2019).
Mitchy Dalen gained further recognition through Aka Dope Stars, where she emerged victorious in episode 1, solidifying her position as a rising star in the Ugandan music scene. Her talent extends beyond solo endeavors; she collaborated with Steve Keys, Mercy Bero, and Benon Mugumbya for UNICEF’s 75th-anniversary track, “For Every Child,” in 2021. Moreover, she showcased her musical and vocal prowess in the mini-series “Suubi” (The Shattered Dream) in 2021. Dalen is credited for the music and her voice-over efforts in a mini series titled ‘Suubi’ (The Shattered Dream) by Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda in 2021 with Julius Ssese and Abaasa Rwemereza.
Her solo career took flight in 2017 with the release of “Tugende”. In addition to original compositions, Mitchy Dalen has treated her audience to a collection of covers on her YouTube Channel and Soundcloud, cementing her status as a musical force to be reckoned with.
