Uganda’s leading brewer Nile Breweries has today in partnership with Enterprise Uganda launched the ‘Be A Million’ contest. The contest seeks to give young people a platform to become self-reliant, and in that way shall be giving away Ugx. 1,000,000 to the most outstanding business idea submission, so as to enable them not only start businesses but also become job creators and employ others.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Onapito Ekomoloit said that: ‘Be A Millionaire’ is a gesture that we hope will go a long way in reviving and keeping afloat one of Uganda’s leading and main income generating sector; which is ‘Small Business’ (SMEs) which employ majority of the youth in the country.
Mrs. Rosemary Mutyabale, the Director Business Advisory and Consultancy Services of Enterprise Uganda added that: “Enterprise Uganda has provided the needed guidelines to steer the campaign, and will also facilitate the selection of winners, and also enable Enterprise Uganda mentor the top participants.
‘Be A Millionaire’ begun running from the 6th of November 2020, and is to go on up to the 19th of December later this year. Eligibility to participate is open to all and only Ugandans between ages 18 to 35 years. Find the rest of the guidelines (T & Cs) on The Nile Breweries Website:
How to Participate:
Visit the Nile Breweries website and download the template provided there; in it you are required to fill in the required fields describing your business model or idea and mail it to Nile.Breweries@ug.ab-inbev.com .
Selection/ Voting
The 3 outstanding ideas/ concepts will be read out on radio daily, and the public will vote for their best at the close of the contest.
Prize
A cash prize of Ugx. 1,000,000 is to be awarded to the overall winning idea.
Exposure (being that the winners shall be published/ publicized, it could attract potential investors or partners even).
