Roast And Rhyme Lights Up Jinja With The Nyam On The Nile Edition. SEE HIGHLIGHTS

Date:

The weekend was very lit (as the kids like to say) with events, but the archetypal party lovers and animals flocked Jinja for Swangz Avenue’s Roast and Rhyme’s Nyam on the Nile edition.

As it was away from Kampala’s dust and traffic jam, they threw on their favorite party outfits and vibes to grace the event, which was held at the Source of the Nile Gardens (Nile Park).

The Jinja Bridge is such a stand-out feature and rings a bell each time you mention Jinja to someone. Did you know that it is only lit on special occasions like Independence Day? Well, in honor of Roast And Rhyme, it was lit up between 1st to 3rd July.

To create a serene environment for the three-day enjoyments event, a set-up perched was perched by the shores of the Nile.

Everything from the hospitality to the sound and performances lived up to and in fact, surpassed the revelers’ expectations.

As per the program, attendees kicked off Friday on karaoke vibes and later mixes by DJ Ali Breezy who welcomed them to Jinja City the way he knows best, as they relaxed by the banks of River Nile.

With the dawn of Saturday, the weekend officially kicked off with board and group games being assigned, and later in the afternoon DJ Ali breezy returned to the decks to start things off once again.

Performances kicked off at 5 in the PM with acts from Jinja like Odex Bex opening, and then later Abeeka Band, Myko Ouma’s Band, and around 10 PM, things went a notch higher with Karole Kasita hitting the stage with a powerful performance that left the crowd in awe. She was followed by the talented Zex Bilangilangi, performing all his old and new hits.

Revelers were also treated to a surprise performance by the legendary Jose Chameleone as the singer took to the stage after being persuaded by Zex Bilangilangi.

To wind up the 3-day weekend safari in Jinja, Sunday brought the attendees to an all-White Brunch at Forever Resort Njeru as hosted by Selector Jay. Drinks and food in the company of live music performances by Myko Ouma, Jose Sax, Steve Keys, and Benon Mugumbya were the highlights of the Sunday Service-themed party.

It was such a riveting moment when Vampos and Benon performed their classic “I Know” which sent the crowd in a nostalgic moment.

Selector Jay later took over the party decks and played the guests’ favorite songs as they enjoyed a chill by the Nile – sipping their favorite drinks, roasting, and having a good time with their friends and family.

A communication from the organizers hints that the next Roast And Rhyme is going to be hosted in Kampala at Jahazi Pier at end of October 2022 since the event happens every 3 months of a calendar.
