Now Streaming: “House of the Dragon” & Where To Watch It

“House of the Dragon” premiered on the 21st of August; officially introducing the latest series set in the Game of Thrones universe to viewers.

Starring Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, the prequel is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

It tells the story of House Targaryen, and has most recently been green-lighted for a second season following its success backed by a skyrocketing viewership of 20 million across HBO Max and other on-demand platforms upon the first week of the premier is currently rivaling the sixth season of the original show.

Confirming the news of the show’s renewal, Francesca Orsi, the Executive Vice President, HBO programming shared:

“We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see-TV. A huge thank you [to co-creator and executive producer George R.R. Martin and co-creator and showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik] for leading us on this journey.

“We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two.”
