Continuing his trend of embracing pop culture, #44 has caped off the year by sharing his list of Favorite Music of 2020. This article is to serve as a correction to my earlier publication, where I mistook his 20-track “Promised Land” playlist for this one.
From “Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage (Remix)” to ‘Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture,” and Jhené Aiko’s “Summer 2020.”, the former U.S President shared 29 track assortment of tracks blend bops from the likes of Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, Wizkid, and J Hus, and did defined the past year for the U.S’ former President elect.
His annual Spotify playlist, which is dominated by hip-hop and R&B, also includes Travis Scott’s “FRANCHISE” with Young Thug and M.I.A., Internet Money’s “Lemonade,” J. Cole’s “The Climb Back,” and Gunna’s “SUN CAME OUT.” Afro-beats ‘Essence’, a song by Nigerian star Wizkid, featuring fast riser Tems, also made the list. The single is off Wizkid’s 30th October recent bodywork ‘Made in Lagos’ LP.
This is not the first time a Nigerian musician will make Obama’s favourite song list. In 2019, Mavin’s rave singer, Rema, made Mr Obama’s ‘Summer Playlist‘ with his hit song ‘Iron Man.’
Obama credited his youngest daughter, Sasha, for helping him curate the vibes. “Here are some of my favorite songs of the year,” he tweeted. “As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”

Last month, the 44th President of the United States released his “Promised Land” playlist featuring tracks that reflected his time in office.
Other songs on the POTUS’ playlist include Mac Miller’s “Blue World,” H.E.R.’s “Damage,” and Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” featuring DaBaby.
