When British rap heavyweight Dave tapped Nigerian superstar Tems for ‘Raindance’, track five on his third studio album The Boy Who Played the Harp, fans of the two artists weren’t really ready for what was about to hit, but one thing that was for sure was that a feel good classic had been released.

The track instantly won the hearts of not just the fans of the “Sprinter” crooner but Tems’ global audience too. With its accompanying music video arriving, the chemistry between Dave and Tems pushed the record to deeper mainstream consciousness.
Since its release, ‘Raindance’ has had an impressive run, conquering multiple charts and cracking the Apple Music Top 100 chart in over 39 countries and amassing an incredible 195Million streams on Spotify, dominating mainstream radio, and become viral track across short video sharing applications, the UK native has landed his very first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 (for the chart ending February 7th).
Landing at number 89, the charting of “Raindance” makes it Dave’s very first appearance on the chart in its 67 year history, and Tems’ 6th, ever since her breakthrough and first entrance on the chart in 2021 with Wizkid’s “Essence”. In the lead is Burna Boy with 7, second place is Tems (6) and then Wizkid with 5 entries. Tyla with 3 tracks, whereas Rema, CKay, Lojay, Davido, Libianca and Amaarae each have only one career entry on the industry’s most coveted chart.
