Having jetted into the “Pearl of Africa” via the Entebbe International Airport yester evening aboard Uganda Airlines, while in the company of his manager, Sallam and a team of 14 (inclusive of his band), multi-award winning Tanzanian singer, songwriter, dancer-and business mogul Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack popularly known as Diamond Platnumz ahead of the Comedy Store Charity concert happening July 14, 2023, at the Kololo Airstrip has promised his Ugandan fans and lovers a “show like they have never seen before”.
The “Yatapita” crooner revealed this while addressing the media and organizers of the concert earlier today at Mestil Hotel & Residences.
“To me, Uganda is like my second home. You know I have kids from here as well. And also for the fact that the event is about charity, it makes me even more happy to perform at it”, said Diamond Platnumz. The show is going to be “nothing but the best”. In a Question and Answer session, he also expressed interest in working with artists Eddy Kenzo and Jose Chameleone, adding that he has so much respect for each of them, having also revealed yesterday upon his arrival about his joint effort with Spice Diana, which he hopes they can shoot a music video for in the near future.
On his involvement in this charity concert, Platnumz referred to his story, having growing up in a situation of need.
“I have to give back to my people. I came from the hood. I came from the slum area, lower life. That’s my duty I have to do that. I don’t wanna be selfish. I love empowering people. The more you have people, the more you expect blessings,” added the “Jeje” singer added.
Another co-headliner at the charity concert is Kenya’s Nameless, who many of us do know for his hit record “Nasinzia”. He too expressed his delight in having to perform at the Comedy Store Charity Fundraiser concert saying:
“Uganda is like my second home. When I had my very first concert here in 2002, the love was overwhelming. I have been here. This is my third time. So, when Alex (CEO of Comedy Store Uganda) reached out, I couldn’t hesitate to come through”, he remarked.
The 41 year Kenyan entertainer went on to say that: “Like you do know, when you buy a ticket, a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to charity, and what better way to have fun/ have a good time while having and giving back to community. I am also happy, that ill be joining my brother Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and me Kenya, performing here in Uganda. It’s an East African thing”.
Performing alongside Diamond Platnumz and Nameless is a host of comedians MC Mariachi, Madrat & Chiko, Fun Factory, Maulana & Reign, Teacher Mpamire, Figo West, Titus Vybz, Merry Heart, Sammy & Shawa among others, plus musical performances by Spice Diana, King Saha, Winnie Nwagi, Ray G, Alien Skin, Karole Kasita, Naava Grey, Zex Bilangilangi, Abeeka Band, Daddy Andre, and Eezzy.

The Home of Hope Charity football match, The Comedy Auditions Program; and the Youth Training & Mentorship Program are the current three activities the Foundation runs at the moment.
