The 2023 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) nominees were announced on Monday night, and Uganda was well represented. Joshua Baraka’s “NANA (Remix)” feat. Joeboy, King Promise, and Bien led East Africa with three nominations in total across the categories “Song of the Year,” “Best Collaboration,” and “Video of the Year.”
The other Ugandans hoisting the flag higher are James Onen alias FatBoy (Radio/TV Personality of the Year), Triplets Ghetto Kids (Best African Dancer), Azawi (Best Female Artist East Africa), Spice Diana (Best Female Artist East Africa), and Eddy Kenzo (Best Male Artist East Africa).
Davido, BNXN, Stonebwoy, Asake, Uncle Waffles, Libianca, and DJ Shinski are among the stars whose projects have received nominations.
The awards ceremony, which is celebrating its tenth year and remaining true to its mission of honoring African music and recognizing the enormous talent present on the continent and in the diaspora, will take place in Dallas (Texas) on September 17, 2023.
