The Unpopular Opinion UG’s 3rd LIVE Show, A Success

Date:

Billed one of the most exciting podcasts to hit the scene in Uganda in 2022, the Unpopular Opinion UG podcast over the weekend held its 3rd LIVE show.

Hosted by Claire Nansikombi, Fiona Kemigisha, and Prim Nyonyozi, the Unpopular Opinion UG podcast has become a staple for engaging discussions on societal and personal topics ranging from finances, relationships, parenting, love etc all while delivering a hearty dose of humor.

The raw tell-it-all podcast has become a house hold go-to podcast. Since its debut in February 2022, the show has garnered a dedicated following with over 32,000 subscribers and a whopping 2,000,000 views on YouTube as well as impressive followings on Instagram (63,000+) and TikTok (48,400).

In an effort to connect more intimately and candid with their audience, the Unpopular Opinion UG has since held an annual live show, which is now in its 3rd edition, having held the first at The Yard (Bugolobi), and the 2nd and now the one of this year at the Protea By Mariott (Skyz Hotel, Naguru).

The well attended Khama Digital Content Hub organized event attracted participation of over 150 members to share thoughts on the topic: “The Man of Her Dreams V The Woman of His”, and to lead the discussion was a panel of Guest Speakers that consisted Benard Ewalu Olupot (popularly known as Beewol) a Blogger and Digital Marketer alongside Wonder JR; a mental health advocate, actor and musical artist. Still on the panel to share his two cents on the topic was Reverend Captain Gideon Mwesh. He offered the much needed spiritual and Christian insights and perspectives on the topics discussed throughout the LIVE show.

The Unpopular Opinion Live show sparked rich conversations on various sub topics; leadership and submission, masculinity and femininity, finances in relationships, gender roles in relation to parenting styles and empowerment, further attracting reactions from the audience who commented on a number of key points raised, especially in regard to being an independent woman, in the modern masculinized word.

Beyond the live talk show, attendees got treated to delightful meals, and music as they chatted/ interacted with each other in between the breaks, offering them an opportunity to expand their social networks.

There was also a dedicated pop up shop area where various vendors got to exhibit their products/ services, offering FREE samples and discounts to those who checked out their stalls. Among these was Remedy Spa, iCandy, Ceee Beauty, MakeUp by Rae, Me Time by Sheenz, Trish Tea, Picasso Design Agency, Eco Ville, 40 Days 40 Smiles, Tropics 19, Nomadic Threads, and Rissa Naturals.

The Unpopular Opinion UG trio can’t wait to have you around at the next one. Be sure to follow them on social media to stay updated on all the good stuff they are cooking.
