The GRAMMY winner had originally scheduled to drop the LP last week, but he postponed it due to the unfortunate and devastating Los Angeles wildfires, and so he pushed its release in respect and solidarity for those impacted by the crisis. Additionally, he donated 1 million dollars to LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and LA Regional Food Bank.

Gifting music lovers and the Xo the perfect gift to end January, the multi-talented Canadian resident has today arrived his 6th studio album, and it comes with exciting features. Among these being Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, Future, Florence + the Machine, Giorgio Moroder, Playboi Carti and Anitta.
The long-awaited third chapter of his “After Hours” trilogy that is the 22-track set ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ will mark the end of The Weeknd going by the moniker and see him simply go by Abel as he revealed to Variety. His decision to retire the name and the persona of the Weeknd segues cleanly in to “High for This,” the first track from his first mixtape, “House of Balloons,” bringing his catalog full circle, now that ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ has arrived.
Several tracks from the album were previously previewed during his stadium concert at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo last October. The performance featured surprise appearances from Playboi Carti and Anitta. Abel also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and performed the new song “Open Hearts”, off the album.
Alongside the LP, The Weeknd is set to share an accompanying film that will star the Weeknd, feature Wednesday star Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The visual is set to hit theatres 16 May 2025. The film was co-written and directed by Trey Edward Schults and will be released via Lionsgate.
