Thanks to his internet famous single, ‘My Darling’, Chella’s sweet melody has earned him a spot in the history of Nigerian/ African music.

This follows the track topping the Shazam Global Chart as of today April 25th. Ever since its release on March 26, My Darling has since seen over 2.2 Million user generated videos get uploaded on Tiktok alone, while using it for a background sound.

It also leads as his most streamed track on Spotify with over 10,000,000 listens, just behind his popular debut “Nyash Na Nyash”  (see what I did there 😂😉🙂‍↕️🫣??) which is at 4Million streams and still counting.

With this new milestone on lock, Chella replaces Doechi’s ‘Anxiety’ at the top.

Reacting to the feat. Chella expressed his excitement about the acheievement and even promised to drop more new music.

Chella has become the fourth Nigerian to top the Shazam Global chart, only joining Ckay who did so with Love Nwantiti, Calm Down (Remix) by Rema Feat Selena Gomez and Wizkid’s Tems assisted record Essence.

Chella gained continental mainstream acclaim in 2024, with his smash hit Nyash Na Nyash. He’s doing it all over again, with My Darling, as well as his debut EP ‘Tears of A Mad Man’, one track at a time.

His comic approach to lyrics and self deprecation has won hearts of many, and so, 2025 does seem to be a big year for the singer, as he looks to booking himself a permanent spot on the Afrobeats scene.
