Previously, it was Malaika Nnyanzi, Siima Sabitti, Spice Diana, Sarah Kizito, and Sheila Salta that were entrusted with being Chipper Cash ambassadors but not anymore. The largest mobile cross-border money transfer platform on the continent unveiled NTV News anchor Faridah Nakazibwe as its brand influencer yesterday at their offices in the industrial area.
The NTV presenter and news anchor was chosen basing on her profile, visibility, and mass following and she will be the ambassador for two months which will determine whether her contract will be renewed or not.
“I’m honored to be working with Chipper Cash and it’s a journey I’m happy to be on. I’m natural and that is what I’m bringing on board,” said Faridah.
According to Dan Tumuramye, the Country Manager of Chipper Cash, Faridah Nakazibwe fits the credentials of a brand influencer as her brand speaks for itself.
The purpose of the platform is to ease money transfers by enabling sending and receiving money locally at no cost while offering instant settlement and the lowest cross-border rates.
This deal comes even better for those in the UK because they can now send money back to Uganda and get 15% instant cashback for the sender and 5% for the receiver. Each Ugandan who downloads the app and shares their referral link to a person in the UK (friend or family) gets UGX50, 000 as a referral bonus when the UK person downloads the app, verifies their account, and sends £20 to any Chipper Cash user in Uganda.
She is already executing her roles, and engaging her audiences about the brand and how to make use of its services.
