After years spent carrying a condensed version of country music in Nigeria on his back, Johnny Drille is finally putting his thoughts and experiences together as one on his forthcoming debut album.
On ‘Bad Dancer’, the Mavins singer’s most recent single, he showcases his penchant for declarative writing, fervent melodies and live instrumentation, Mavins signed singer song writer took to social media today to announce that his debut album is in the works.
Asides the YouTube teaser, Johnny took to his social media to announce the completion of his upcoming album set to drop early in the year.
Back then in November, 2020, the Mavin resident dropped ‘Mystery Girl’ which many do believe is the leading single off the LP.
Pop hybrid easy on the ears, idyllic vocals, fervent nocturne, has seen him become one of the few Nigerian artists with a penchant for writing, singing, and producing their own songs; which are synonymous with the singer’s brand has won us over with in the past.
Having started music in church and later participating in the 6th Season of the Fame West Africa Project in 2013, Johnny has since been delivering a new realm of experiences showcasing his range through lyrics and genre-bridging sounds.
