FULL LIST: Winners At The Maiden Janzi Awards

Over the weekend, the maiden Janzi awards ceremony took place following the unveiling of nominees end of last month.

The two-day event took place at the Kololo Independence Grounds; and attracted a large turn-up, right from Artists, Comedians, Media, and performances from A Pass, Sheebah, Azawi, Kenneth Mugabi, Karole Kasita, B2C, Lilian Mbabazi among others.

Songstresses, Azawi and Pia Pounds were among the biggest winners of the night, as each bagged two awards with Azawi for the Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year categories and Pia Pounds for Song of the Year and Video of the Year awards.

Veteran musician and co-founder of Afrigo Band, Uganda’s oldest group, Moses Matovu was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, and gospel singer Levixone received the Humanitarian Award.

The late singer and member of the Radio and Weasel group, Mozey Radio won in the Outstanding Legendary Artist Award category. He was nominated alongside Maddox Sematimba and Jose Chameleon.

  11. Outstanding Makeup Artist Award – Mona Faces
  12. Outstanding Interior Designer – One100 Interiors Uganda
  13. Outstanding Architect Award – William Henry Sentongo
  14. Outstanding Painter – Joseph Ntesibe
  15. Outstanding Photographer Award – Edgar Batte
  16. Outstanding Fashion Designer – Abbas Kaijuka
  17. Outstanding Stylish in Fashion Award – Mavo Kampala
  18. Outstanding Song of the Year – Pia Pounds – Tupaate
