The 7-track EP was produced by Umoja Sounds – Kenyan super producer duo (Provoke and Mandugu Digital). The A team made for perfect collaborators delivering a clever soulful EP cutting across various sounds; from Hip Hop, R&B and Afro Pop with Rap fusion.

Jay Rox says about the intention of his new EP, “With all my will, I try to create relatable music that will offer guidance to listeners, give them peace in any way and inspire them on a daily basis. I am grateful to those that have walked the journey with me and also brought people to be a part of my journey – this is my pride.”

The EP release is accompanied by the music video for “Nothing to Something”, where Jay brings to light the story of his music career’s grass-to-grace journey. The visuals provide a fresh perspective to highlight this milestone.

The EP title and theme is inspired by the longevity of Jay Rox’s career, which has spanned for more than a decade, in which Jay has been producing music that moves masses thanks to his unique prowess in writing and flow in delivery.

Umoja Sounds and Jay Rox spent a couple of weeks together in Zambia, initially planning to record only a few songs but this eventually led to the birth of ‘Poetry In Motion’. On working with Umoja Sounds, Jay Rox shares, “The experience was nothing short of amazing. I’ve worked with Provoke on quite a number of songs from back in the day. We first did a collaboration on the song “Translate” and that was the start of a stable, long-term work relationship. That track was also featured on one of Umoja Sounds EP released in 2021. Our synergy is one-of-a-kind and working together always feels like magic.”

With the release of this EP, Jay Rox looks back on his music career journey where for the long duration he’s created timeless music based on his inner feelings and not just for commercial benefits. In this EP however he feels like the collection of music is more broader for a wider legion of listeners.

Jay Rox sums up, “I would like to thank all my fans for believing in me – the artist I have become now from the Zone Fam days. The support keeps reviving me whenever I step into the studio showing how important the fans are to me. I’ll continue to strive to put out music to impact people’s lives positively. My fanbase outside of Zambia is considerably growing and I’m very grateful for that. I appreciate all my fans all over Africa and beyond for supporting and pushing my music.”
