The ‘Nkwatako’ crooner has today unveiled her Record Label, Karma Music Uganda.
Sheebah Karungi announced the launch of her record label earlier today under the name “Karma Music Uganda” to find and develop musical talent.
In a one-minute and four-second video posted to her social media accounts, the former Team No Sleep (TNS) signee revealed this to her followers and thanked everyone for their support along the journey from her days as a dancer to her current position as a multiple award-winning artist.
Sheebah gained notoriety while a member of the musical group “The Obsessions” in the 2000s, and in 2014 she went solo.
The “Karma Music Star” talent search, which Karma Music is launching, is open to everyone. They only need to tag Sheebah and Karma Music Uganda in a short video of themselves that they submit to social media.
Those who get to the finals (individuals with the highest levels of engagement who impress the judges) will move on to subsequent preliminary stages, mentorship, and finally a recording deal.
She also disclosed that Naava Grey, Artin Pro, Fik Fameica, and Chosen Becky are among the judges for the singing competition while speaking to the media at The Terrace (Kololo).
When asked why it took her so long to start the label during a Q&A session, Sheebah said that she had had this dream for a very long time and that it had taken her some time to learn about the business, gather the resources, and make the necessary connections. Now, she is more than ready to assist in finding the Next Big Star.
Karma Music becomes the first and only record company in Uganda and East Africa owned by a woman. It also increases the number of Sheebah Establishments she has, which already include Holic Pads, the Sheebah Cares Foundation, and the events company “The Red Events.”
We definitely love to see it! CONGRATULATIONS Sheebah!
