LISTEN UP: Buju Out With “Sorry I’m Late” EP

By far one of Nigeria’s hottest new school acts, Buju has today dropped his debut body of work titled “Sorry I’m Late” EP, and its an amazing piece for lovers of his music. 

The highly anticipated project titled “Sorry I’m Late” EP has been released via Buju’s imprint, To Your Ears Entertainment via EMPIRE and features only one act; – The Cavemen.

Describing the project, Buju remarked that:

“Sorry I’m Late” is my descriptive diary of experiences and a long overdue apology to all who have asked where the music’s been for over 9 months. It’s a very deliberate attempt to show my growth in, songwriting, storytelling and life.”

“I’m preaching persistence, confidence, belief, love, pain, beauty in struggle and above all Purpose. It’s the need to show my own world of music after I have showcased what my music carries through my features in the last few months.”, he added.

The “Testimony” singer first broke onto the music industry with his 2019 debut hit ‘Spiritual ‘which featured Zlatan, and 2020 with Lenu Remix (featuring Burna Boy).

2020 got Daniel Benson also professionally known as Buju on a lockdown as he wasn’t able to do much. But returned in 2021 to make a statement with his first single ‘OUTSIDE ‘. Then proceed into delivering outstanding features including ‘Bling’ where he joined BlaqBonez & Amaarae + Ladipoe’s Feeling & on ‘Mood that’s taken off Wizkid’s Made In Lagos ‘Deluxe’ album, and most notably Save collaboration –Confident.

After delaying for almost 2 years, the Gbagada (Ogun State) born Afropop apologies with the title of his 7 track debut EP – ‘Sorry I’m Late’. Released Today October 28, 2021, the EP houses production credits from Denzi, Steph, Perlz, Rexxie and Timijay and consists of 7 solid tracks on which Buju opens with self-titled single “Daniel Benson” and sings about keeping his spirit high on “Never Stopped”, treating his girl like his property “Something Sweet” and the things that bother him on track 3 “I Do’”. The lone feature of the project is band – The Cavemen who appear on “Ogechukwu”.
