Elijah Kitaka fans could be in for an UNUSUAL music treat, soon!

The “Ndi Wuwo” singer has recently sent fans and music enthusiasts in a frenzy of excitement.

This follows a recent short clip he uploaded to his official Instagram account. In the clip, Elijah Kitaka is seen collaborating on a project with the emerging R&B Alt Alté-R&B singer and songwriter, Donald Otim, known by his stage name Mauimøon. The recording session took place at the Ramada Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The highly acclaimed and sensational fast-rising artist from Swangz Avenue has swiftly carved a niche for himself, thanks to his enchanting voice, songwriting prowess, fashion sense, and dynamic stage performances. He has graced prestigious stages such as Blankets and Wine, Bell Oktoba Fest, Ice Cream and Cake Festival, Jameson Hangout, with more appearances on the horizon.

His rhythmic Extended Play has garnered “Nothing” but love since its release, with most tracks receiving massive airplay and dominating charts nationwide. Mauimøon, influenced by his love for R&B, Timberland, and Pharrell, showcases his mastery by crooning over songs reminiscent of Craig David. His notable harmonization technique has propelled him beyond borders in the Alté-RnB scene, excelling as a singer, songwriter, and producer under his moniker La Soülchyld, earning critical acclaim across genres and boundaries.

With notable projects like the ‘Pleasure’ EP and the recent ‘From Uganda with Love’ EP, Mauimøon continues to distinguish himself as a flag bearer for East Africa’s burgeoning R&B Alt scene. As a result, accolades keep pouring in, including being unveiled as Apple Music’s Very First UP NEXT East African Artist, featuring on The Nadeska Show, and gracing the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Africa (February) playlist.

Given the impressive backgrounds of both artists, it would be an understatement to say that we are anticipating a collaboration from these two – it is a genuine NEED. Whether the track is destined for Mauimøon’s upcoming album or another EP by Elijah Kitaka, one thing is certain – it will be a musical gem.
