Matt Travers Recruits Akeine For New Single – ‘Over The Moon’. LISTEN

Date:

After over a year and a half of no musical releases, Matt Travers has returned with a new track!

Burgeoning new wave artist Nyanzi Matthew David Friday last week dropped his latest single, titled ‘Over The Moon’.

This follows the ‘CORONA’ rapper taking a break and doing a lot of self-reflection and discovery as he plans for the release of his debut EP.

Matt first gained momentum in the music scene for his unique sound and later featured on schoolmate C.Kayo’s debut project Paper Planes. Having finished as one of the semi-finalists in the Akadope Stars, Travers released “Destiny’s Child” as part of the songs for the musical talent search.

On ‘Over The Moon’, Matt taps Bantu Vibes’ Blessing Mujuni also professionally known as Akeine, who by the way recently blessed us with an extended play as well.

The talented songstress was chosen as the collaborator of choice for this particular assignment and as expected, she delivered over the mind-blowing beat crafted by KALEMA. Clever wordplay, sweet melodies, and sensational production are the perfect recipe to a great song, and ‘Over the Moon’ surely doesn’t fall short of any.

‘Over The Moon’ continues to prove Matt as a breath of fresh air to the creative world with this record, and serves as a follow up to his previous release that features J-Wats.

The RnB joint was first teased at the Budo League earlier this March when Travers wowed the audience with his performance that included an acapella of his verse. On the 25th of the same month, the song was officially released and is now available for streaming on all platforms here:
