As of today 16th November, NBS TV is officially 1Million Followers Popular on Twitter.
Monday 15th November marked yet another Milestone at the Summit View/ Naguru based Television Station as Nile Broadcasting Services Television or as its shortened NBS TV hit the One Million Mark on social media networking site – Twitter.
NBS TV’s official and verified Twitter account was July 2011 though the station had been established earlier.
Part of the digital brand’s online growth could be attributed to a number of factors; with the most leading one being the spot on LIVE reports/ Updates which see the broadcaster share breaking news, and cover live events. The COVID-19 Bulletins, Amasengejje, Live At 9 News Bulletins etc.

Another is the highly popular syndicated entertainment programs that the station runs that mainly include NBS After 5, and NBS Katch Up plus Saturday’s NBS SNL (Saturday Night Live). How could I forget to mention UNCUT? (moved to Sanyuka TV but was a popular show on here as well)
What’s NBS TV without Politics? Of course, it is the Political Command Centre and is home to a couple of conversational driving Political Talk Shows like Spotlight UG, Barometer, Frontline & Morning Breeze among others.
These have indeed cementing its place as Uganda’s leading TV station; a commitment to which it’s been able to live up to with its tagline of “Informing to Transform”.
It is therefore no wonder the milestone has been able to be achieved in such a small time space.
The Lead television broadcaster that’s since set a foothold in Uganda and the rest of the regions is under parent company Next Media Services; which is home to TV channels: Sanyuka & Salam TV, Nxt Radio, Nile Post News, Next Production, Afro Mobile & Next Communications.
This further affirms Tech Jaja’s 2020 findings that showed that 24% of top profiles on Twitter are dominated by Media houses; only coming after Political figures; the President & H.E Bobi Wine. Daily Monitor & NTV Uganda were the most recent entries to the 1M club of Twitter. Welcome, NBS TV!
