Netflix Renews “Young, Famous & African” For A 2nd Season And “Blood & Water” For A 3rd.

Yesterday Netflix hosted a content showcase tagged “See What’s Next Africa” in Lagos, Nigeria with an aim of shading a spotlight on its increased investment in Africa’s rich storytelling history through exciting new projects in a wide range of genres and formats that will be available in 190 countries.

At the event as attended by filmmakers, and press from South Africa and Nigeria, the streaming platform revealed some juicy details and a sneak peek of its coming shows for the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

The highly acclaimed South-African teen crime-drama series “Blood & Water” was announced to be receiving a third season; as well as the reality television series “Young, Famous & African” which is to now be readied for a second season; and “How to Ruin Christmas” that has as well been renewed for season three.

“Blood & Water” will return in November, while “How to Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower” will premiere on December 16.

Netflix also reaffirmed its commitment to reality by continuing to showcase some of Africa’s biggest stars as they go about their fabulous lives by confirming that “Young Famous and African,” will begin production shortly and will feature a new cast.

Among other exciting African titles premiering announced were “Wild is the Wind” (October 28), “The Razzy Guy”, “Lockdown” (August 5), and “Ludik” (August 26), among others.
