As we continue to endure the sweltering heat wave, new music continues to roll in for the summer & August promises more fire, with a bevy of artists dropping fresh sounds.

Some electrifying album/ EP energy has been upon us. More shall be dropping this month; following popular names like The Weeknd, Allan Toniks, Asa, Dreventy, Omah Lay, Boy Spyce, Azawi, Kohen Jaycee, Adekunle Gold, among others who have kept us music lovers hooked to our sound systems throughout with their projects in the first half of the year.

The same contagious energy is sure to surround 6 of the many notable upcoming albums in all genres releasing throughout August 2022, and highlighted are the notable ones arriving; alongside their track numbers and more.

  1. 1. Fireboy DML – Playboy

While some of the songs from Fireboy DML’s forthcoming album PLAYBOY album like “Peru”, “Playboy” and most recently “Bandana” are being played on loop, the album remains one of the most anticipated releases of this season.

Having unveiled its tracklist at the close of last week, the 14-track set by the Afro-fusion singer & performer looks equally enthralling; as the features on there promise nothing short of that; right from Rema, Ed Sheeran to Chris Brown & the others.

“PLAYBOY” is out on August 5th and it will be Fireboy DML’s 3rd studio album, following “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps” which was released in 2019, and his sophomore project “APOLLO” in 2020.

Pre-save PLAYBOY to listen to it first when it arrives.

Also releasing on the 5th of August is Calvin Harris. The Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter will be once again exploring funk, just as he did in 2017, now with part 2 of the Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1 album tagged “Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2” and on it, the “Summer” hitmaker features 23 celebrated artists including 21 Savage, Dua Lipa, Young Thug, Chlöe, Charlie Puth, Normani, Halsey, Offset, 6LACK, Justin Timberlake, Busta, Rhymes, Pharrell, Swae Lee, Jorja Smith and Snoop Dogg.
