Hosted by DJ Edu or the Afro Boss as he is commonly referred to, Destination Africa is a radio show that streams on BBC Radio 1Xtra. This programme mainly has its lens on playing the hottest sounds straight out of Africa.
One of the segments of the show has Edu countdown the Top 5 trending hits of the week, and one that I do recall was Olakira’s Mazerati (remix) featuring Davido. The other segment of the programme, Edu usually has interviews with guests. First physically appearing on the show alongside Fik Fameica, May, this year, this time round, DJ Edu caught up with Uganda’s Alexander Bagonza alias A Pass in an on – air e- interview over phone about how the times of the pandemic have been, how he’s been holding up as an artist, and whether the people should expect any new music soon.
To this A Pass shared that he’s been appearing on a few online shows, and that life is kind of coming back to normal this side, as worship centers are now open, but with a restriction to the number of people. Plus, as a way of coping, most citizens are wearing masks; to which he revealed that he is part of a campaign to encourage folks to wear theirs too, for their loved ones. The ‘What People Do’ singer made two major announcements before he could sing out, one: he’ll be performing on one of the online concerts as we commemorate Uganda’s 58th Independence Day celebration. And the second and most important one; was that he has an Extended Play (EP) on the way!!
