Next Radio Set To Return To The Airwaves March 28th With Relaunch.

Date:

Next Radio announced it will be returning to the airwaves effective 28th March.

Uganda’s pioneer audio-visual radio station Next Radio has most recently announced that it will be making a grand return to serve its listeners once again.

This follows heavy recruitment in its restructuring exercise that saw the majority of the radio’s staff being laid off while others were moved to different roles about two weeks ago, as revealed in a press statement shared to their official socials:

“We have retreated, refocused and strategized on our future, re-deployed some of our talents, and brought some new faces on board,” the statement reads in part.

“Next Radio is now ready to return to the airwaves on Monday, March 28, 2022, starting at 6:00 AM East African Time.”

Launched in October 2018 as the first visual–audio radio station in the country, the youth-centric radio station will be available to watch and/ or listen to via 106.1 FM, the Afro Mobile app, StarTimes Channel 243, and DStv Channel 898.

The month of March saw stations like Blazing Hot 100 end their 20-year-old life on air and retire the station.

Happy to see counterparts like Next Radio re-strategize and come back even stronger. The relaunch was first teased with the addition of the “E” in the name of the station; from Nxt Radio to NEXT Radio.
