The Ugandan accolade-winning telemedicine provider has now opened in Gayaza!
According to a McKinsey study, as the world grappled with the COVID pandemic, the popularity of telemedicine experienced a spiked growth and popularity worldwide (presented for telemedicine to make new inroads) and among the products that picked up the most especially among the Ugandan population was embracing online services, telemedicine inclusive.
Telemedicine as a concept had already taken off albeit slowly, therefore, the pandemic offered medical care start-up Rocket Health the opportunity to grow more while transforming the delivery of medical care using technology.
Yesterday, the e-clinic opened up a walk-in care facility in Gayaza (Kalagi Road, opposite Nestra Petrol Station) to bring telemedicine closer to the people in and around Gayaza.
Prior to this launch, the editor of this site while attending the album listening of Allan Toniks’ AWO album was reliably informed that Rocket Health had a great collaborative project in the pipeline they were working on with the “Sikuleka” singer.
On the 31st of July, the music video for “AWO”, the titular track to the LP was released. If you could watch it intentionally, there was brand placement of the telemedicine co. in the visuals.
Rocket Health’s co-founder and CEO, Davis Musinguzi, speaking to those in attendance at the launch revealed that he was elated that they have finally been able to reach this day.
“It hasn’t been an easy journey but we thank God we are here. Rocket Health started in 2012 and today we open a physical clinic in Gayaza.”
“We are delighted to now make Healthcare, our facilities, and highly skilled professionals accessible to more people.”, he added.
Rocket Health’s co-founder and head of operations, Dr. John Mark Bwanika also added to Dr. Davis’ message by reassuring the people that they as Rocket Health are not moving away from Tele medicine and digital health, but rather enhancing the practicality of bringing services to people.
The launch event was also graced by Allan Toniks who performed some tracks off his freshly released album – AWO; and some fan favorites like “My Miss” and he taught the audiences the “Awo Ku Near” dance routine alongside his Rocket Health Choreographers.
Attendees also got to have a tour of the new facility afterward, and nibbling on bites and sipping cocktail enjoyments too were in order.
