When The Girl in the Yellow Jumper; Uganda’s first-ever film on Netflix premiered, the news spread like wide fire, with many coming in with “paying kudos” to the cinematographer for raising the country’s film industry and flag higher.

There were also some elements of mixed feelings with the majority praising the film for its choice of cast, the setting, its mind-boggling storyline (plot) among others, and some criticizing some elements/ scenes; but of course, this was cinematographer Loukman Ali’s first and has since improved and mastered his art as a filmmaker.

Released in 2020, ‘The Girl In The Yellow Jumper’ is a Ugandan thriller that stars Rehema Nanfuka, Philip Luswata, Michael Wawuyo Jr., Michael Wawuyo, Gladys Oyenbot, and Maurice Kirya and runs for 1 hour and 20 minutes. It tells a story of a man who escapes a hostage situation and returns home with a story to tell.

Singer, songwriter, and producer Alexander Bagonza has become the latest public figure to be blown away by the Loukman direction. Taking to his Instagram stories, the “Wuuyo” singer remarked;

“Heyo Loukman, just got an opportunity to watch the whole movie, and its mad, thank you for this great piece. Big up on yourself!”

‘The Girl In The Yellow’ maker at the start of this week announced he’d be releasing an extended version of his earlier short film; – Ddamba. Do look out for that; in the meantime, do check out “Sixteen Rounds” and “Blind Date”; all by Loukman Ali out everywhere where.
