The Weeknd sent his diehard fans into a frenzy earlier this week with the announcement his fifth studio album, ‘Dawn FM,’ would be arriving on digital shelves Friday (January 7).
The 16-track effort which features the Hot 100 top 5 smash ‘Take My Breath,’ comes as the follow-up to his 2020 blockbuster LP, ‘After Hours.’
It exhibits Abel’s signature Weeknd sound that’s chic R&B while richly encompassing a big-budget cinematic theme that sounds lush, rich, and leaves one imagining a reincarnation and continuation of where Michael Jackson may have left off and continued to drive if he was still alive and the legendary King of Pop.
Prior the album hitting streaming services, the Canadian musical genius hosted an exclusive live stream experience tagged “103.5 Dawn FM on the Amazon Music app and on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel that started at 9 p.m. PST yesterday Thursday, Jan. 6.
The star-studded Dawn FM album rises as 2022’s first major release and boasts guest appearances from Jim Carrey, Lil Wayne, Tyler, the Creator, Quincy Jones, and others.
