Ann Kansiime has been the lead flag bearer when it comes to breaking YouTube records in and out of Uganda. From being the most followed comedian online, to headlining multi national comedy shows, winning accolades and now the latest to add to her collection of wins is her 1 Million Subscriber count.

Having received this good news this afternoon, she could nothing but rather share the exhilarating news of this milestone with her “ninjas,” (fans/followers); as she refers to them as that.

This commendable achievement comes after a very long time of putting in hard work and building and growing her channel steadily.

Born Kansiime Kubiryaba Anne, Ms. Kansiime is an award-Winning Comedian, Writer in Fun Factory, Business Woman, Musician, Philanthropist, and Actress. She began her comedy career in 2007; acting in the comedy group Theatre Factory, which played at the National Theater until its disintegration. She later joined Theatre Fun, whose skits were broadcast on NTV in the Barbed Wire TV show, which later became U-Turn. With Mr. Brian Mulondo, Ms. Kansiime stared in the MiniBuzz series as a Taxi interview conductor. Her breakthrough came when Citizen TV of Kenya offered her a slot to produce, star and present a weekly comedy show, ‘Don’t Mess With Kansiime’. She has since appeared on BBC Focus on Africa, and also played to packed houses in Blantyre, Gaborone, Kigali, Lagos, Lilongwe, Lusaka, and London.

In addition, Anne owns/hosts the ‘Girl from Mparo’ show which airs on Pearl Magic – DSTV, and the ‘Don’t Mess with Kansiime’ television show on Maisha Magic Channel 161 and NTV Uganda. She is also an ambassador for Save the Children – Uganda, a brand ambassador for DStv, Standard Chartered and Old mutual Kenya.

Top of the many accolades she’s won for comedy such as: Comedy YouTube Sub-Saharan Africa Creator Award 2016,  Teeniez Funniest Comedian (2016), African Entertainment Awards USA, Best Comedian’s Award (2015), Nollywood & African People’s Choice Award for favorite comedian (2015), BEFFTA 2013 (Best Comedian), Lagos International Festival 2013 (Best Actress) etc, Kansiime now becomes the latest act to hit the 1 Million subscriber count, after celebrated music icon Eddy Kenzo did so last month. Now this makes her the most followed/subscribed to comedian on YouTube in Uganda, and Kenzo the most subscribed to Musician.

Like it is a standard procedure at YouTube, Anne will soon be delivered too her creator Award. This will be her third if I’m not mistaken because she’s literally earned them in a hierarchy, from the Silver Creator Award (for earning 100,000+ subscribers), and now soon arriving is the Gold Creator Award/Gold Play Button for garnering (1million+subscribers).
