On May 3rd, marvel studios gave a glimpse of the movies that will be dropping in phase four as well as their release dates and official titles. With spider man far from home marking the end of phase three. Phase four commenced with the release of miniseries on Disney plus, Wanda vision and the falcon and winter soldier with Loki due to be released, these movies will be incorporated into phase four. Here are the movies that will headline phase four.
1. Black widow
With its release date delayed twice, black widow finally got its final release date set for July 9th, 2021. The movie will talk about the dark past of Natasha Romanoff and it will take place during the events that occurred after civil war.
2. Doctor strange multiverse of madness.
The events of doctor strange 2 will take place after the events of Wanda vision. The CEO of marvel Kevin Feige explained why benedicts cumber batch doctor strangers cameo didn’t happen in the Disney plus mini series but we expect Wanda maximoff to appear in the movie. It will be released on March 25th, 2022
3. Black panther wakanda forever
Black panther2 had the most perfect name that got fans buzzing about. It has a release date of 8th july , 2022.
With marvel announcing that it will not recast or digitally recreate Tchalla in Black Panther 2. it has not yet released any new future project, with fans buzzing whether to bring back Michael B. Jordan’s tchaka or make shuri with the leading role. We are yet to find out.
4. Thor love and thunder
Filming of thor 4 , began already in Australia with taika waititi directing and writing the movie. With its release date set on may 6th, 2022. Leaked pics have been shared showing surprising faces like matt Damon wearing lokis attires. Christian bale will take up the villain role as gorr the god butcher.
With the last time we saw Chris hemsworths thor he was heading off to go to explore the cosmos with the guardians of the galaxy at the end of endgame, We expect some faces of the guardians.
5. Ant man and the wasp; quatamania
Its set to be released on February 17th, 2023. Marvel already confirmed the villain , kang the conqueror. Filming is set to begin soon. Little is yet to be known but Paul Rudd is set to be back on the leading role.
6. The marvels
This will be a sequel to captain marvel. With the end of Wanda vision, we are sure that Monica rambaeu will appear in captain marvel 2. A Disney show of MS marvel will also be incorporated in the new captain marvel sequel. Its release date is on November 11th, 2022.
7. Eternals
The saga of the eternals, a race of immortal beings that lived on earth and shaped its history and civilizations. Some fan theories suggest that young thanos will appear in the movie. The movie has a marvelous cast with kit Harrington (game of thrones), Angelina Jolie (maleficent), kumali nanjiani. It will be released on November 5th, 2021.
8. Shang chi and the legend of the ten rings.
The first Asian superhero movie with simu liu headlining the cast. It is also known as the master of kungu Fu and brother hand. It has a release date of September 3rd, 2021.
9. Spider man no way home
With the end credit scenes of far from home, we are still thinking of how spider man will overcome how mysterio exposed his identity. However our answers will be answered on December 17th, 2021. We are yet to find out the villain of the movie. The cast will be the same with ben Simmons expecting to reprise his role as the chief editor.
10. Guardians of the galaxy volume 3
It will be released on may 5th, 2023 . Therefore events likely to take place in this movie will take place after the events of Thor love and thunder. We expect adam warlock who is expected to be the villan after the end credit scenes of volume 2.
I would advise people to watch the Disney plus series Ms marvel, she hulk, moon knight, hawk eye and more that would be released as these would be incorporated into phase four. Some of these series have also shown us a glimpse of phase five like captain America 4, young avengers and more.
