Just two weeks after her surprise announcement, the pop powerhouse has delivered her sixth studio album ‘Positions’; having first announced it in mid-October (15th October) following it up with the releasing of the album’s title track ‘Positions’ with an accompanying music video last week.

According to a post shared on her Instagram 6 days ago, “Positions’ was set to be a 14-track project, basing on the tracklist shared:

The album which she calls her favorite yet, includes the title track, plus guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign (“safety net”) and Doja Cat on the Murda Beatz-produced “motive.” She also reunites with her “Love Me Harder” collaborator The Weeknd on “off the table.” Other producers and mixing/ mastering engineers enlisted for the LP were London on da track, Tommy Brown, Shea Taylor, Scott Storch among others.

Earlier this year, Grande joined Lady Gaga on “Rain on Me,” from Gaga’s May album Chromatica. The two performed the song together at MTV’s Video Music Awards in August as part of a Chromatica medley at the ceremony. The track won for Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Cinematography. Grande’s springtime chart-topping hit single with Justin Bieber, “Stuck with U,” also won for Best Music Video from Home.

Prior to that, Grande and Monét teamed up on “Monopoly” last spring, and Grande co-wrote Normani’s debut solo single “Motivation,” which arrived a few months later. After taking the executive producer chair on the soundtrack for last year’s reboot of Charlie’s Angels, she remixed Lizzo’s hit “Good as Hell.”

Positions is Grande’s sixth studio album and her fourth record in under three years. She released Sweetener in August of 2018 and followed it with thank u, next at the beginning of February in 2019. She also recorded a live album on her Sweetener world tour, k bye for now (swt live), and released it in December of last year. Other Ariana Grande albums include: ‘Yours Truly’ (2013), ‘My Everything’ (2014), and ‘Dangerous Woman’ (2016).

Positions arrives less than two years after thank u, next, which spawned the No. 1 hits “7 rings” and the title track. “Positions’ the LP was released under Republic Records, and has a total play time of 44minutes and 14 seconds, with a genre specification of R&B/ Trap pop.  it is a fantastical fairytale journey into Ariana’s mind, all lush violins, sparkling whistle tones, stacked harmonies, “This project is my favorite for many reasons and I really can’t wait for it to be yours,” she told fans. “Thank u for your love and excitement, it means the world to me.” She announced the release of the LP on social:
