Fireboy DML previously released the original version of his track back in July and now here’s a remixed version with word and guitar-smith: Ed Sheeran.

Well, Well, Well!! What can I say other than that 2021 has been that year for not just Afrobeats but African music in general! From Wizkid and Tems’ Essence, Ckay’s Love Nwantiti, breaking not just borders but records of their own, thanks to the power of incredible originals and of course remixes.

The latest addition to these is an announcement that was made about two weeks ago, that YBNL/ Empire signee Fireboy DML was going to have English singer-songwriter and Popstar Ed Sheeran on a remix for his 2021 smash hit “Peru”.

Speaking on how he got to be featured by Nigerian sensational singer, songwriter, and performer, Fireboy DML, Ed Sheeran stated that a friend sent the original song to him, telling him that the YBNL star would love to have him on the remix. He went on to state how much he loves the song, as it has been on repeat.

Commenting on working with Ed Sheeran, Adedamola Adefolahan also professionally known as Fireboy DML stated:

“It has been a dream knowing Ed Sheeran is a fan of my sound and having him jump on a song that was inspired by me traveling the world,” Fireboy DML remarked in a press release. “Not only is this an exciting moment for me, but also for Afrobeats. I hope this is the first of many collaborations with Ed and other artists around the globe, and I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy this song during the holidays.”

Just like the original, the remix version for ‘Peru” too was produced by high-profile beatmaker, Shizzi.

‘Peru’ and its remix serve as Fireboy DML’s only releases of this year however, he might have teased something to expect on his next album; a track with Big WIZ (Wizkid) following photos shared online by his boss Olamide following a link up with the fellow Afrobeats star.

They promised, and now they’ve delivered, ladies and gentlemen: Listen to “Peru” remix here.
