After over two years of no physical concerts, events and “enjoyments” that were put to a halt in March 2020 due to the ravaging pandemic, it was all smiles on the faces of many Ugandans when the President in his New year’s Address revealed that discoteks, events, bars and entertainment avenues would officially open on the 24th of January 2022, as part of the full re-opening of the economy.

The party central of Africa is to yet again see the light with happiness, as as we are talking now, it is just three days to go; and of course its business as usual for graphics guys as they are selling like a hot cake.

Not like there were no events in the past two years, but most were virtual (held online). E-concerts became such a thing and these included the famous Club Pilsener & Fenon Events organized Club Beatz At Home, UG Connect Concert, Tusker Malt Conver-Sessions, among others and helped artists keep afloat while keeping in touch with their fans.

Because Ugandans loved their party as much as they do, here are a few events to look forward to as we look to going back “waweelu” (outside).

Soon as the President made his address, the organizers of Roast & Rhyme announced dates for their forthcoming edition instantly. The event is famous for bringing together revelers in an outdoor setting to enjoy meat in all foams as well as music. 3. Blankets and Wines

Prior the closure of physical events, House of DJs, the organizers of had announced that Afropop star Yemi Alade would be jetting into the country for the event, and this saw early bird tickets sell out instantly though it was later cancelled due to COVID19 and its effects on the economy. They however held an e-version of the event featuring Joeboy. HODs recently put up teaser artwork about their return soon, so you should look out for that event too. Missed your Blankets & Wines host Miss Deedan? Well, the wait may be longer but I do promise, it’ll be worth it.
