Afrobeats has continued its global dominance. This has been reaffirmed by its presence on President Barack Obama’s Year End Playlist.

In keeping with his tradition of sharing insights into his literary and musical preferences throughout the year, President Obama has once again unveiled his “Favorite Music Of 2023” list.

Among the featured tracks is South African artist Tyla’s vibrant single, ‘Water.’ Davido adds to the musical highlights of the year with his track “UNAVAILABLE” (featuring Musa Keys) from the album ‘TIMELESS,’ earning a spot on the former President’s playlist for the entirety of 2023. Also making the cut is Tems, showcasing her first original solo vocal endeavor since the ‘If Orange Was A Place’ EP with the song ‘Me & U.’

The impact of Afrobeats in 2023 is further emphasized by the inclusion of Asake and Olamide’s record ‘AMPIANO’. Notably, Burna Boy, the African Giant himself, secures a place on the list once again, this time for the remix of ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World,’ a collaborative effort with 21 Savage.
