At the start of last week, Navio caused a buzz on the internet when he debuted a post that had fans and his followers wondering whether he was joining politics; with many wondering which office he was going to stand in for or constituency, he was to serve. Many guessed it to be Rubaga where the “Ngalo” singer was born and raised.

Audiences easily fell for it, I inclusive given that in the recent past many artists in comedy and music have been joining politics; musicians like Dr Hilderman (currently serving as the area Member of Parliament for Mawokota North) and the likes; needless to mention Navio’s “Bad Man From Kamwokya” collaborator H.E Bobi Wine who formerly served in the capacity of Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East and later even vied for Presidency in the 2021 General Elections.

In a follow-up post, Daniel Lubwama Kigozi who is popularly known as Navio rested the queries when he clarified on what “VOTE Navio” stood for & further added a Pre-save link.

It is apparently an acronym for “Vibes Out The East”; the name of his soon-to-be-released 6th studio album which will serve as a follow-up to 2020’s “Strength in Numbers”.

When contacted, a representative on Navio’s team said that this project is so different from the singer’s previous works and that we shall get to experience a “Never Sen Before Side” of Navio.

“This one was done to represent the lifestyle of East Africa from his perspective thus the title Vibes Out The East. It is just like Strength in Numbers released in 2020, a project that won Navio the Album of the Year award at the MTN Pulse Hip Hop Awards 2021 and collaborations with artists from different parts of the world. We can’t wait to see who is on this album from the producers to the artiste line-up and so much more,” said the Representative.

Navio has over the years built a huge fan base, thanks to his consistency in releasing projects, collaborations, and humility. He in 2021 had a song of the year contender when he lined with Sheena Skies on “Rare” in 2020 on King Saha assisted “Nkwagala Omu”, and amapiano-centric record “Rara”.

Details regarding the track listing, and featured acts haven’t been disclosed, however, what can be confirmed is that a Nviiri the Storyteller collaboration by the title “Let’s Do It” is on there and the snippets of an accompanying music video to it is already being teased online.

Navio was named among the Walkers alongside Miss Deedan, and DJ Slick Stuart as the Johnnie Walker Tours made a return in the first quarter of this year.

“Vibes Out The East” is set to release on September 23rd. Pre-save/ Pre-Add the album to your album now.
